Meta-Crisis? Meta-Solution.
Why we exist: the crises of climate, democracy, technology and inequality feed one another. At root they are one failure — a failure to coordinate. No institution we have combines the membership, the coordination and the mission-locked economy that job requires.
What we propose: to build the missing one — a civic home for a hundred million people that pays for its mission with its own economy, to spark an Age of Thriving by 2035.
What we claim: not certainty — no one reaching for something this size has it to give. What we do claim is a credible start, and every future that ever arrived began as one. The future isn't promised to anyone. It is begun by someone.
Who we're speaking to
One institution, met at two moments.
A great building is pitched twice. The financier hears the case for building it — the gap, the demand, the plan, the staged capital. The people who move in are offered a home — and shown the model suite before a brick is laid. No one is misled: all of it is public.
The first moment — under way now
This site is written for the people we're asking to fund and build UnitedPeoples — so it talks the way institutions talk: capital, architecture, proof. It names the Meta-Crisis, because that is the case for building. The member's side never will — people don't join an argument, they join a better life with peers.
The second moment — from D-Day
Come as a future member and you'll notice the difference: the UP you'll join is warmer than the UP you'll find here today — peers, Projects, everyday life. The Dispatches from 2035 tell the story, written to be read. The working demonstration — the UP HUB as we imagine it in 2032 — is the model suite: the finished home, walked through before it is built.

What it looks like on the ground

One street
Picture one member — a nurse, say, in São Paulo. Her Circle is twelve neighbours. This spring they notice a market two streets over binning good food every Friday. NAVi helps them shape the fix into a Project: a pickup rota, a shared fridge, a plan that works around shift work. Six weeks later the food reaches forty families — counted, verified, on the record. And the playbook travels: the same fix, repeated in hundreds of streets from Lagos to Jakarta.
One institution
Now picture a hospital group hosting its own BrandedCircle. Three thousand staff, one shared question: why is the night shift burning out? Their Circle turns it into a Project — a peer-support roster, tracked for six months on the THRIVE dashboard. Sick days fall. The playbook passes to the next hospital that asks — then to thousands of institutions, on every continent, sharing what works.
That is the whole design, at two of its scales: a person, a Circle, a Project, a result you can measure.
Every large number on this site is only that, multiplied.

The first is hard
The Meta-Crisis is real. Climate stress, failing institutions, broken information and hard polarisation — each crisis feeds the others until they behave as one. The Doomsday Clock stands closer to midnight than at any point since 1947.
So is the second
Humanity has never been closer to breaking through to an Age of Thriving. For the first time in history, more than half the world is middle-class or better. Literacy has gone from one person in ten to nine in ten. Life expectancy has more than doubled. The capacity is there — more of it than ever before.
The context is the Meta-Crisis. The Meta-Solution is built on optimism, not despair — a belief in our shared future, and faith in ourselves to reach it. We do not lack the resources. We do not lack the will. What is missing is the machinery that turns one into the other.

A civic operating system, not another platform. Two legal entities: a Dutch public-benefit foundation that owns the mission, and a company locked by its own charter to fund it. Together they will organise a hundred million members into fifteen GlobalCircles, millions of smaller Circles, and Projects with results you can measure. Four components, one system — each ordinary alone, unprecedented together.

A for-profit company built to fund a not-for-profit mission. The foundation owns the mission; the company earns the money; the company's own charter sends the profit back. Not a pledge: a rule in the company's own constitution, with the foundation holding the control that keeps it there — designed to outlast any board or buyer.
Each part has been done before: AA grew peer circles to millions, Rotary linked civic circles across countries, Mondragón proved a mission-locked economy can last. What has never been built is the combination.
Each part can be tested alone — the thesis is only proven when the smallest system runs together. That is what D-Day is: the smallest working whole. Three GlobalCircles, the UP HUB and NAVi, live together — planned for the Peace Palace — nine months after the first cheque.

Exactly fifteen GlobalCircles, fixed by design — so no field ever loses touch with the others it depends on. The number is fixed. Who runs each Circle is not — that passes to the members who join. Beneath them: hundreds of thousands of specialist and institutional Circles, and millions of twelve-person neighbourhood teams.

Sprint and Build are the ask today; every later stage is released only as its gate passes.
Founding capital for an institution. The mission can never be revoked; the tactics improve as we learn. Funding is staged, gate-reviewed and open to full due diligence — and it is catalytic: the ~€188M programme builds the institution to the point where it unlocks regulated capital of around €65 billion across the decade, every tier locked to the mission. That €65B — roughly €44B of core bank capital plus ~€20B of aligned fund capital — is a separate institutional raise as the banks and funds scale; it is never part of this founding ask.

The institution exists in law today: a term-limited board carrying fiduciary duty under Dutch ANBI law, Articles of Association that lock the mission beyond any individual, and a nine-role executive team to be recruited through a global search to reflect the community UP serves.
