Founding stageThe public-benefit foundation is established; the institution described is designed, not yet built. Founding capital builds it.
More Than a Platform

Not an app with fifteen communities. A civic institution with the full complement of organs.

It would be a mistake to read UnitedPeoples as a piece of software with a mission attached. Like the enduring institutions it stands beside, UP is designed to carry the organs through which a culture learns, remembers, recognises its own, and keeps faith with what is true. These are not ornaments on the architecture; they are how an institution at this scale holds its character across decades.

01The Five Organs

A learning system, a body of judgement, a standard of recognition, a memory, and a commons of fact.

Live from D-Day

UP College

The institution's body of judgement

A standing body of UP's most trusted thinkers — the College of 150: ten compensated Thought Leaders for each of the fifteen GlobalCircles, one of them a senior Thought Leader in Residence. A working body, not an honorary advisory board — its members are compensated and its outputs are published. The College authors and stewards each domain's Missions, and holds the intellectual and moral frame not by command but by interpretation — so UP can scale without thinning out or drifting from the Tenets.

UP Academe

The learning system

The learning and capability layer — the means by which members and Circles build the skills the mission demands, with credentials that carry weight because the institution stands behind them, portable across institutions and borders.

Recognition Architecture

The standard of recognition

UP recognises its members — but it gamifies contribution, not attention: the opposite of the incumbent platforms. UP Points, badges and recognition tiers are denominated in validated contribution and outcomes, never in time-on-platform, posting volume, or streaks. Two firewalls are constitutive: recognition is non-convertible — Points are not currency and never redeem for capital — and recognition confers no governance power. No leaderboards, no engagement-decay loops, no burnout mechanics.

UP Museum of Leadership

The memory

Memory itself as civic infrastructure — the institution's record of who built what, and why, so that a movement of hundreds of millions has a shared past as well as a shared purpose. The Museum launches as UP College issues its first major Declarations, marking the shift from a founding institution to a remembering one.

Empowered News Network

The commons of fact

ENN treats information integrity as infrastructure: a member-driven trust layer over external and member-submitted media — curated by members, carrying a verifiable provenance trail, governed by the Journalism & News Media GlobalCircle and supported by NAVi. It is not UP-owned media and produces no proprietary journalism; it is the credibility layer that helps members and the public tell verified information from what is merely circulating — at the precise moment the shared informational commons is fracturing.

02Why This Matters

Durable institutions channel three human instincts. Most activate one and starve the other two.

Drawing on the cultural psychologist Michael Morris — whose 2024 work Tribal synthesises the evidence, and who consults to UnitedPeoples on this work — the institution treats three evolved instincts as the substrate of any lasting community, and maps each to a specific organ of its architecture, so that no single instinct is left to be captured and weaponised elsewhere.

Peer

Belonging among equals

Met by the LocalCircle and its monthly CONNECT — a team of about twelve who chose this work, and chose each other.

Hero

Recognised contribution

Met by the Recognition Architecture — contribution seen, validated and honoured, never gamed.

Ancestor

Continuity across generations

Met by the Museum of Leadership — a shared past that makes the shared purpose durable.

Building a community of this kind — in this precise and non-partisan sense — is not a slogan. It is an engineering requirement for an institution meant to last decades.
